5 Star Rated Company! Get Your Free Quote!

When running a business, one of the most critical factors in attracting customers is presentation. If a store looks clean and well-organized, it’s more likely to keep a buyer interested than if it’s cluttered or dirty. If you’re a business owner or manager, you likely know how difficult it can be to keep a busy store clean during the workday, and the area that deteriorates first from overuse is your floors.

Whether it’s scuffing from the customer’s shoes, fallen food and beverages, or an oil stain that leaves a permanent mark, the floor in your place of business is bound to take a beating. Thankfully, we at Coating Designs have the perfect solutions to protect your shop’s flooring: epoxy and polyaspartic coatings.

A polyaspartic or epoxy layer over vulnerable concrete or tiling makes them several times more durable and better able to resist stains. With their glossy finishes, you can cut down on cleaning and ensure that your Orlando, FL store always makes an excellent first impression.

Premium Epoxy Flooring Services

When your business needs a professionally applied concrete or metallic epoxy floor coating, then Coating Designs is the company you can rely on. We offer our Orlando, FL clients several excellent services that can ensure their floors can withstand the wear and tear of the workday.

However, we should note that outdoor coatings (such as a patio or pool deck) are seasonal options. Florida’s rainy season begins in mid-February and ends sometime in November, making outdoor epoxy work challenging and negatively impacts the end product. So be sure to take this into account when scheduling an outdoor job.

Commercial Floor Coatings

A retail store sees more than its fair share of foot traffic every day, and that amount of use can quickly deteriorate bare flooring even when it’s well maintained. Using epoxy or polyaspartic provides an added layer of protection that ensures your floor remains presentable to the customers no matter what the surface goes through.

Industrial Floor Coatings

Industrial warehouses or plants are full of heavy machinery that can easily crack the concrete underneath. The constant movement also presents the same problem that retail stores face with foot traffic’s deteriorating effect. Adding industrial floor coating to your warehouse floor protects it long-term, lessening the need to pay for repairs and gives the structure an appealingly modern look.

Patio Coatings

At a restaurant, it’s harder to control the damage that accumulates on your patio from outside elements. Eventually, the concrete may even get to where no one wants to sit outside, leaving perfectly good tables unused. At Coating Designs, we can lay down an epoxy floor designed to fit the decor of your diner and better withstand harsh weather and sunlight.

Pool Deck Resurface Coatings

If you’re in charge of a public Orlando pool or run a hotel that offers one to their guests, you can likely guess how dangerous a wet pool deck is. However, you can avoid an unfortunate accident with professional resurfacing and coating. Our polyaspartic formula, in particular, is non-slip and can resist UV rays for long-lasting effectiveness.

Our Process

Our expert floor coating team provides the best service in Orlando, FL. By using their extensive knowledge and hands-on experience, the Coating Designs team ensures that your polyaspartic or epoxy floor is installed without a hitch.

We train our employees in our excellent epoxy and polyaspartic application process, and they bring their previous floor coating expertise with them as well. We’ve designed to allow for efficient and reliable floor coatings so that your business can get back to normal as soon as possible.

1. Choose Your Coating

Before we begin working on your floor, our team will help you pick a type and design for your flooring from our wide range of options. Each coating material provides its own unique benefits and drawbacks:

  • Epoxy – Epoxy coat is durable and highly resistant to impacts and extreme weight. However, it’s generally better for an indoor area because it has a vulnerability to UV rays. Additionally, its slow drying time means the ground it’s applied to won’t be useable for at least a few days.
  • PolyasparticPolyaspartic coating has more applicability than epoxy due to its formula making it more durable and able to resist outside elements. It also dries within an hour, but this can be a drawback during the application phase without an experienced epoxy company keeping up with the drying process. Additionally, the added utility of polyaspartic makes it more expensive than epoxy.

2. Prepare the Floor

After deciding on a design, our workers will prepare your floor for its epoxy or polyaspartic coating. This stage of our process entails grinding down the floor until it’s level and filling in cracks to avoid dips or abrasions in the final layer.

3. Apply the Base Coat

Next, we use either polyaspartic or epoxy as a base layer to ensure your new flooring is stable and durable.

4. Cast and Scrape Chips

Then we add the design chips you picked during the first phase, adding color and texture to the floor coating according to your specifications and personal style.

After the chips are cast and the base coat fully cures, we’ll scrape up all uneven or loose chips to ensure that your floor looks its best.

5. Seal the Clear Coat

Finally, we seal the base coat with another layer of either polyaspartic or epoxy. The topcoat is where the majority of the floor’s durability and weather resistance comes from.

What are concrete coatings?

Our epoxy floor coatings are a concrete resurfacing option that is installed over existing concrete floors for both interior and exterior concrete. All of our coatings are installed by hand (we do not use any stamps), thus giving our clients a true, one-of-a-kind floor. We install a wide range of flooring systems such as: 100% solid epoxy, concrete stain, acrylic cement, and rubber based products.

Clients have the ability to customize any coating with our various color options and design techniques. Concrete Coatings are used not only in residential, but industrial and recreational settings as well. Premier uses only the highest quality, industrial products on the market to ensure every customer is getting the best value.

How Much Do Your Concrete Floor Coatings Cost?

Each project is customized to your particular concrete flooring needs. Every job we do is different, because we offer different types of coatings and finishes.  We will work with you to develop a free estimate keeping your budget in mind.

How Durable Are Your Epoxy Concrete Coating Systems??

We use only industrial products on all of our epoxy floor projects. They are designed to give clients the most value and longevity over any other coating material on the market. Just to give you an idea of how strong our products are, we installed an epoxy flake floor in the garage of a Fire Station in 2008 to protect the firehouse’s garage from dirt, debris, salt, and the extreme work environment. Due to our expertise and industrial coatings, we have yet to receive a repair call. Those same products are used in all of our residential projects.

How long does a typical epoxy flooring project take to complete?

A typical residential project takes approximately 3 – 5 days to complete depending on several variables. Variables include, but are not limited to: size of job, repairs and/or preparation requirements, weather, additional design details, customer requests, etc.

What if I already have an existing concrete coating?

Unfortunately, we must grind off any existing coating and repair materials before we can install any of our concrete coatings. This ensures the integrity and longevity of our flooring systems. If you have stamped concrete that has faded, please contact us for options in reviving it.

How Long Do I Need To Stay Off My Concrete Floor Coating After It Is Installed?

If using 100% solids epoxy, your floor will be cured and walkable in about 12-18 hours. You can return to full heavy traffic after about 24 - 72 hours. Wait for at least 24 hours before moving light weight furniture on your brand new concrete coating flooring. Before moving anything heavy (car, equipment and furniture).

How do you prepare concrete for resurfacing?

We start every project by first preparing the concrete for our products. It is imperative that we have a fresh concrete surface before installing our concrete coatings on your project – this will allow our products to have only the BEST mechanical bond.

We spend approximately 66% of the project prepping your floor which may either be by diamond grinding or pressure washing the concrete (depending on the location of the project) and in some cases we do both! Most contractors will come in and just acid wash or not even prep your floor – we get calls all the time about botched installs with customers asking if we can save their project; we must start fresh every time.

Will I Need To Reseal My Concrete Floor Coating?

If you follow our maintenance and cleaning guidelines, you should not have to worry about resealing the concrete floor coating. We offer a professional grade cleaner that will easily remove stains or tire marks, but will also preserve the life of your concrete coating topcoat.

What If My Concrete Floor Has Cracks, Chips And Is Old?

No worries, we are experts in repairing existing problem areas of concrete. In some cases we have been found to be a cheaper alternative over tearing out and replacing existing slabs of concrete. Once we have saved your concrete we then install our decorative designs to hide the flaws and repairs.

How Do I Care For My Concrete Floor Coating?

You can clean our concrete coatings with typical sweeping, mopping or steaming.

Will Oil Stain My Concrete Floor Coating?

Epoxy floor coatings are extremely resistant to most hazards, including cleaners, gas, oil, transmission fluid, and even most industrial chemicals. Our epoxy concrete coatings system is both oil and moisture resistant.

Who Invented Polyurea Coatings?

Andy Phelan, director of business development and training at Rhino Linings Corporation, explains, “Polyurea was invented in the early 1980s when a less moisture-sensitive form of polyurethane was desired. By replacing the hydroxyl group in the urethane with an amine group, a product we now call polyurea was formed.

What Are Polyurea Concrete Coatings?

Polyurea is useful for concrete floors, as it quickly and strongly bonds to concrete while providing a smooth, virtually impermeable surface that protects the floor from impact, water damage, chemicals, heat, and sunlight.

What Types Of Environments Can Epoxy Floor Coatings Be Used?

Epoxy flooring coatings can be used in a variety of environments.  The durability, slip resistant finish is fantastic for any industrial setting, storefronts, patios, or even driveways or garages.

How Are Epoxy Floor Coatings Applied?

We have perfected a six step process for applying Epoxy Floor Coatings that involves prepping the floor, prime floor with epoxy primer, fill all cracks, holes with epoxy grout, then apply epoxy paint.

Can I Apply Epoxy Floor Coatings In Cold Temperatures?

You can!  Epoxy can be used at cold temperatures but must be handled and applied with techniques adapted to cold temperatures.

Do I Need To Hire A Professional To Install Epoxy Floor Coating?

Installing Epoxy Floor Coating correctly is critical to the appearance and durability of your flooring.  Hiring a professional is the best way to ensure that your flooring will look amazing and last a lifetime!

Does My Concrete Floor Coating Come With A Warranty?

The warranty depends on the system. For the Epoxy only and Epoxy with Polyaspartic topcoat, there is a 25-year warranty. For premium Polyaspartic only, there is a 30-year warranty.
